Privacy Policy
By installing the mobile app developed by Me v PMDD, Inc., using our website, or accessing services provided by Me v PMDD, Inc., a Florida corporation; (“Me v PMDD”) in any other way, you accept the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. Your privacy is important to us, so we try to be transparent about how we store and process your data to provide the best App we can and advance awareness and research into Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
What data do we collect?
We may collect the following data from you which will be stored on our servers:
- Profile data including your email address.
- Your settings data which allows Me v PMDD to remember any customizations you have made (i.e. notifications, reminders, etc.)
- Your symptom tracking data.
- Your treatment tracking data.
- Your journal entries.
- Your app usage data (i.e. IP address, mobile operating system (e.g. Android or iOS), device type and model, or network provider). This helps us identify app malfunctions and further improve the app.
By using the Me v PMDD mobile app, you agree that:
Me v PMDD may store and process personal data you input into the App in order to provide service to you. Me v PMDD may also store and process this data to improve app functionality and services, such as sending you information and reminders, which may include personal data, through the app or to the email address you shared with Me v PMDD.
Me v PMDD may use your symptom and treatment tracking data to create anonymous information for academic and clinical research purposes. Any data shared for research purposes cannot be associated with you as an individual, or identify you in any way.
We also store communication history with you, including your email address, in order to handle inquiries and provide ongoing support.
If you use the Me v PMDD App without creating an account:
- Your profile and symptom/treatment tracking data is stored on our servers under a “guest account” that is saved using your unique hardware ID. Your device is the key to identifying your data, not your name or email address.
*While you may use Me v PMDD without an account, we recommend creating an account, so that you can access your data from multiple devices and maintain your data in the case of device loss or damage. If your device is lost or damaged we may not be able to identify and restore your data to you.
Backing up your data
If you would like to backup your Me v PMDD data using a third party service, such as iCloud, please refer to their privacy policy to ensure the privacy of your personal data.
If you are using Me v PMDD without an account, we recommend regular back ups so you don’t lose your data.
Closing your account:
At any time you may close your Me v PMDD account by going to the Account Settings page. There you will be prompted to confirm that you wish to close your account and must provide your account password. Your account will then be marked as closed. If you wish to permanently delete all of your account data from our servers, please contact us at support@mevpmdd.zendesk.com
Data on our website
If you use our website – MevPMDD.com - our web server will collect the following information:
- Your IP address
- The website from which you were referred to our website (e.g. if you followed a link)
- The webpages you are visiting on our website
- The browser you are using and its display settings
- Your operating system
- The date and duration of your visit
- Further personal data will only be stored and processed if you voluntarily share it with us, e.g. through a contact form
- Me v PMDD analyzes website usage data to optimize the site’s content and functionality and to identify technical issue
Data Security
We follow industry best practices when transferring and storing your data, in order to protect against the misuse, loss, or changes to any of your personal information. This helps ensure your data remain safe and secure. While we cannot guarantee this, we make our best effort to prevent any breaches of security.
How we store your data
When you use Me v PMDD, your personal profile data is stored separately from your symptom and treatment tracking data and your service settings. This ensures a high level of privacy for your tracking information. Your password is stored using one-way encryption ("hashing" plus “salting”), and it cannot be read by us.
We use HTTPS protocol to encrypt your data when it is transmitted between your device and Me v PMDD’s servers. HTTPS is also the same technology that ensures secure connections in your web browser indicated by a padlock icon.
*As with any personal information on your device or computer, we recommend you do your best to keep your device safe and secure as well. An easy way to do this is to enable a password, passcode or pin code on your device.
Your rights and our obligations
As a data subject, you are entitled various rights to ensure the proper use of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please email us at support@mevpmdd.zendesk.com.
Consent
Our processing of your personal data is done with your written consent made by agreeing to the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy upon creating a Me v PMDD account. By giving us your consent, you also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time to prevent future processing of your personal data. To do so, please email us.
Subject Access Requests
As a data subject, you are entitled to make a formal request for information we hold about you. We must provide you with a copy of this information, the reasons it is being processed and whether it will be given to any other organisations or people provided that you make this request in writing by emailing us.
Data Erasure and Rectification
You have the right to erasure (also known as the ‘right to be forgotten’). This means that you have the right to request us to erase personal data we hold about you, and that we should erase such data without undue delay.
You also benefit from the right to rectify or update inaccurate personal data we hold which relates to you (also known as the “right to rectification”).
Data Portability
You also have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. You have the right to transmit such data to 3rd parties without hindrance from us where we are processing that data on the basis of having your consent to do so, or where it is necessary for the performance of a contract, and the processing is carried out by automated means.

Data Transfer
Me v PMDD will not share your personal tracking data with third-party services beyond what is outlined below. We use these third-party services to manage the Me v PMDD app and make it better for our users.
Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics to help Me v PMDD better understand its website visitors and their usage. Google Analytics uses cookies to help track and transfer information. This information is transferred and stored on Google’s servers in the USA so Google can analyze it and provide reports to Me v PMDD. Google does not allow your IP address to be linked to any of your personal data, however they may be required by law or contract to transfer some of your data to third parties. You can disable cookies on your browser to prevent any future data from being collected and processed by Google, but this may disable some of our website features.
Mixpanel
Mixpanel is a service we use to avoid your personal data being collected through IP addresses within our app and on our backend API (application programming interface) in order to ensure your privacy. Please refer to Mixpanel’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to learn more.
Zendesk
We use Zendesk to provide supportive and informative customer service to our users as well as build a constantly expanding knowledge base users may search on their own. Zendesk helps us bring more knowledge to you. Please refer to Zendesk’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to learn more.
Bugsnag
We use Bugsnag to capture any errors or bugs that our app or website might have. Bugsnag helps us to keep track of these errors and fix them quickly to make our app better for our users. Please refer to Bugsnag’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to learn more.
Communications
Me v PMDD uses your email to contact you from time to time. These communications may include app updates, changes to our terms or privacy policy, changes you make to your account, announcements, promotions, surveys, and other appropriate messages. You may unsubscribe from some of these communication messages, but for the integrity of our service we may need to communicate solely pertinent information. Me v PMDD uses MailChimp, a service by Rocket Science Group LLC, based in Atlanta, USA, to help manage our email list and send emails. They may also contact you from time to time, but you may unsubscribe from these emails as well. Please refer to MailChimp’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy to learn more.
Children’s Privacy
Me v PMDD does not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under the age of 16, without parental consent. By registering to a Me v PMDD account you are required to confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If Me v PMDD gains actual knowledge that the information has been collected from children under the age of sixteen without parental consent, Me v PMDD will not disclose this data and reserves the right to immediately delete the account.
If you are under 16 years old, or you have a child under 16 years old, and feel you/they would benefit from using the Me v PMDD app, the parent or guardian must create and manage the Me v PMDD account.
