So, how can I use Me v PMDD to determine a diagnosis of PMDD or another condition?
- Carefully track your symptoms every day for at least two menstrual cycles.
- Track nightly. We recommend tracking nightly so that your experience is fresh in your memory and not affected by a later mood (i.e. unintentionally minimizing negative symptoms when you're feeling great a few days later).
- Your experience is yours. Know that the many symptoms that can be tracked in Me v PMDD are not all required for a diagnosis, but rather reflect the unique experiences of many individuals. Remember that your experience is yours, valid and significant no matter how it compares to another's experience or an average experience. Let your tracking reflect you!

- Share your tracking with your doctor or medical professional and have them evaluate and determine the best diagnosis for your experience.
- A PMDD diagnosis depends on the menstrual cycle as the driving biological factor, so it’s very important to determine if your cycle actually is for your experience. We suggest taking a curious approach to tracking your symptoms and relying on your doctor’s evaluation to determine the best diagnosis given the data you’ve collected.
